If you're interested in my services, you can book your appointment directly via the following link: Booking an appointment.
For any questions or uncertainties, please first contact me by phone, email, or by using the contact form. I will respond to your message as soon as possible.
When you reach out to me, we'll schedule an initial meeting so we can get to know each other and you can explain what you need assistance with. Through up to three sessions, we can determine the best way to support you. If you've already attended a psychotherapeutic consultation in the past 12 months, and if there's availability, we can proceed directly with trial therapy sessions.
Trial sessions are for clarifying any open questions and planning your treatment. You need to complete at least two of these introductory sessions before starting therapy. To get your costs covered, we'll need to submit an application to your German health insurance company.
Individual sessions typically last 50 minutes, and group sessions up to 100 minutes. Regular attendance at your scheduled appointments is essential for the success of your treatment. To ensure the discreet nature of the treatment in my office, please arrive shortly before your agreed-upon time.
I reserve the right to terminate therapy prematurely if you miss more than three consecutive scheduled appointments, if you attend sessions very irregularly, or if you fail to show up for an appointment without prior cancellation. Please also note that if you need to cancel an appointment, you should do so as early as possible – generally at least 3 days in advance. Otherwise, a cancellation/provision fee may be charged.
Sometimes, discussing your case with other treating professionals can be helpful. This will only happen, though, if you've provided a written release of confidentiality. Rest assured, no personal information will be shared with anyone outside without your consent. You don't need a referral to have a consultation or receive treatment from me.
During the trial sessions, an initial 12 therapy units can be applied for with your health insurance company. Should the desired therapeutic outcome not be achieved in the meantime, another 12 hours can be requested. If it becomes apparent that short-term treatment will not be sufficient, a conversion to long-term therapy can be applied for.
If it becomes apparent that short-term treatment won't be enough, you can apply for long-term therapy through an anonymized expert review process so your health insurance will cover the treatment costs. The total number of sessions that can be covered by the health insurance company is a maximum of 100.
For cases of particular urgency, acute treatment of up to 12 sessions can be provided without needing to wait for your health insurance company's approval. This is contingent on the availability of a therapy slot. The goals include, but are not limited to, symptom improvement during acute crises and preparation for psychotherapy or other interventions. Acute treatment is not a substitute for regular psychotherapy.
Individual and group psychotherapy are services covered by German statutory health insurance. However, outpatient care is tied to specific procedures and session quotas. For an initial clarification, a consultation appointment must first be scheduled. The subsequent process varies individually (see above).
Costs are billed according to the German Fee Schedule for Physicians (GOÄ) and reimbursed by private insurance companies. The extent of the approved service depends on your respective contract terms and must be discussed with your insurance provider in advance. Therapeutic treatment officially begins after cost approval.
It's also possible to cover the costs for all services yourself. The fee for therapeutic treatments in this case is also based on the German Fee Schedule for Physicians (GOÄ).
